MaXware Names StĂĄle Svenning CEO and President
Veteran financial services, telecommunications and technology executive to lead global identity management firm

ISELIN, N.J. and TRONDHEIM, Norway — March 15, 2006 — MaXware AS, the global identity management specialist, announced it has named Ståle Svenning as chief executive officer and president. Svenning brings to MaXware nearly 15 years of experience in executive management, technology consulting and business process reengineering in key markets, including financial services, telecommunications, government and healthcare. Svenning succeeds former CEO Tore Wold in leading MaXware’s strategic direction and business growth.

Svenning joins MaXware from SpareBank 1 Midt-Norge, a member of the SpareBank 1 Alliance, one of the largest providers of financial products and services in Norway, where he most recently served as chief operating officer. In his tenure at the bank, Svenning led core operations, drove strategic process, product and technology initiatives, and managed personnel and business development. He first joined the SpareBank 1 in early 2003 as vice president, before quickly advancing to COO in late 2003.
Svenning honed his leadership and operations management skills through nearly 10 years in management and technology consulting with McKinsey & Company and Deloitte & Touche. As associate principal at MicKinsey, Svenning was a core member of the Business Technology Office and eBusiness & eOperations practice leadership groups. He led multiple global engagements focusing on corporate, eBusiness and supply chain strategy, merger and acquisition strategy and post-merger integration for clients in technology, telecommunications and software industries. At Deloitte & Touche, Svenning was responsible for business process reengineering and systems design for clients in the manufacturing, banking, government and healthcare industries.
Svenning earned a master of science in engineering cybernetics and computer science from the University of Trondheim’s Norwegian School of Technology and a master of management from the Norwegian School of Management, Executive School. In addition, he completed a technology strategy and management training program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
